The firm was founded in 1976 under the then practice name of JM Robertson & Co. The founding partners, John Robertson and Terry O’Gorman, quickly established the practice as a leading specialist criminal defence firm.
In 1994 John Robertson was appointed a Judge of the District Court of Queensland, where he currently presides.
Today the firm still boasts a reputation as one of the leading criminal defence firms in Queensland and is now partnered by Terry O’Gorman and Leigh Rollason, who are both accredited specialists in criminal law.
Through fierce advocacy and thorough representation, our solicitors provide an excellent service to a wide range of clients.
Our solicitors also continue to demonstrate a commitment to broader social issues, with all solicitors in the firm active on social justice and law reform committees. This is particularly evident with Terry O’Gorman’s role in the Council for Civil Liberties where he is the current Australian President.
