Kate is currently studying in her Fifth Year of a Bachelor of Arts (Criminology)/ Bachelor of Laws Degree at the University of Queensland. Kate is particularly interested in criminal law, with a focus on public policy considerations in the creation and reform of laws.
She has worked as a clerk for law firms specialising in criminal law since 2014 before joining the team at Robertson O’Gorman in February 2017. Kate regularly performs legal research, drafting and administrative tasks. She appears on procedural mentions before the Magistrates, District and Supreme Courts and has previously instructed Counsel on sentences and a Commission of Inquiry.
Kate has had extensive involvement with a number of volunteer organisations. She has served on the Executive for both the YMCA Queensland Youth Parliament and UN Youth Queensland and volunteered for YMCA Siblings Reconnect, a program which focuses on reuniting siblings who become separated through the foster care system. Presently, Kate is the Treasurer for the Lawyer’ Information Network (LiNK), the State Volunteer Coordinator for Share the Dignity and a Peer Tutor in the subjects of Criminal Law, Constitutional Law and Contracts for the University of Queensland Law Society.
