Unlicensed driving

Section 78 of the Transport Operations (Road Use Management) Act 1995 makes it an offence to drive a motor vehicle on a road unless the person holds the applicable driver license.

The maximum penalty is 40 penalty units or 1 year’s imprisonment. There are a number of mandatory disqualification provisions and as such you should seek legal advice if charged with this offence.
