Parole & Prison Issues
Many firms effectively cease representation for their clients at the Court room door upon sentencing. Our view is that it is important to maintain legal representation whilst in prison for issues which may arise, most importantly regarding parole.
In Queensland, if you are sentenced to a parole eligibility date, you have no guarantee of release from prison on that date, and will need to make a formal application for parole. For some people this can be a complicated process where references, psychological reports and detailed post-prison release plans are required.
We can also assist to ensure that you gain access to relevant courses whilst in prison which may be a pre-requisite for release on parole.
If your parole application has been refused, we can prepare an application to the Supreme Court for Judicial Review.
